Became part of the Babe Ruth family back in 1984, when Dwight  registered his oldest son Sean in the Woodbridge Fathers Baseball League (now Beth – Wood Baseball) – Dwight’s wife Rosalie “volunteered” him to become a Coach for Sean’s Team and essentially Dwight has never looked back.  He coached his younger son Scott as well thru Babe Ruth Baseball.

One special highlight was back in 1992 when Dwight’s 11 – year old All Star Team captured the CT Babe Ruth Bambino State Championship – Woodbridge had a very special group of players (which is the only State Championship that Beth-Wood League has ever won)

Became a member on the Board in 1986 serving in various capacities and Dwight has been a member ever since – Dwight is currently serving his 20th year as League President in 2018.

Dwight is  extremely proud of the  8’s Friendship Tournament, which actually started in the late 1980’s as essentially there were no Tournaments or opportunities for  8’s to continue playing baseball after the Spring season – there were only 2 – 3 Teams for the first few years but as the word spread, this Tournament quickly grew to include Teams throughout the entire State.  In 2017 the Friendship tournament  peaked at 20 Teams, the largest contingent ever, and Dwight looks forward to be continuing this tradition going forward - the main focus is to give the younger children an excellent opportunity to experience competitive baseball during the summer months, with the main emphasis of having fun and making it a positive experience for not only the players & coaches but for the parents as well.
